When can I transplant my garden mum? It was given to me as a gift and I'm not sure when is the best time to plant in the ground.

You can plant it in the ground now. It should continue to bloom for you until early December if you regularly cut off the faded flowers. The plant will die down over the winter months and you can remove the dead stems and foliage. In the spring, new stems will appear. Enjoy your mums!
