|Vigorous pruning each winter should reduce the number of flowers and fruits your apple tree is capable of bearing. Hand pruning any flower clusters as soon as they appear is another approach. There are chemical growth hormones (Fruitone and Florel) that you might consider using. You might contact your local cooperative extension office for other options.
