Is it too early to prune back crape myrtle trees. I have some that have grown 15 - 20 ft high. I live in central Florida

Crape myrtles develop flowers on the new growth of the season. It's too early (or too late, depending upon your philosophy) to prune your crape myrtle now. Wait until you see new growth developing and prune it back then. Best wishes with your landscape!
