I am attempting to cut down some pampas grass (to ground level) in order to remove it more easily. What is the best tool to use to cut this?

Very sharp loppers will cut through the tough leaves, or you can rent a weed whacker with a steel blade (as opposed to a string trimmer). I've gone so far as to use a chainsaw on clumps of pampas grass, but this might be an overkill. As long as the blades of your hedge trimmers or loppers are sharp, they will cut through the blades of the grass. It's time consuming but effective. Wish I had an easier solution!
