I just planted a beautybush. Please tell me everything you can about this bush. I can find very little on it. Thank you!

Beautybush (Kolkwitzia amabilis) quickly grows to about 8 feet tall (or more) and nearly as wide in an arching vase shape. It blooms in late spring producing lovely pink flowers. This shrub does best in full sun. Once it reaches some size, it seems to flower better if thinned annually by removing a number of the oldest stems as close to the ground as you are able. Always prune right after blooming because it blooms on year old wood. Enjoy your shrub!
