It is too late in the season to seed bare areas in your lawn, and you wouldn't want to broadcast seeds after using a weed killer. Most weed killers have some residual effects in the form of pre-emergent chemicals. Pre-emergents keep weed seeds from germinating. These chemicals will also keep grass seeds from germinating. You can use weed killer now but wait until early next spring to sow your grass seeds.
