Bird of Paradise - Knowledgebase Question

Moreno Valley, Ca
Question by lblanton8

I planted a very large bird of paradise in July. During a bad wind storm in October all the large leaves we bent and eventually died. Will the large leaves come back? How should I water/feed the plant now so it is nice in the Spring/Summer? I live in Moreno Valley, CA. Thanks.

Once the leaves are gone it isn't likely the plant will produce new leaves in the same places. All the new leaves come from the new growth. So, if the plant looks bare in the middle you may want to prune the stems down. New growth will appear, along with healthy new leaves.
