Topping a Papaya Tree - Knowledgebase Question

Would it do any harm to top my Papaya tree (now about 20 ft tall) to about 10 or 12 ft.

Papaya lacks the woody tissue common to trees so is considered a giant herb rather than a tree. Cutting it back shouldn't harm it, and will probably encourage new growth, which will result in additional fruit. Papaya has the potential to reach about 25' in maturity.
