I have a hosta that a bought in the spring at HD and planted in a container in my covered terrace in NYC. I have pictures, but how do I care for them so they thrive in the spring? Hostas leaves are all yellow. Thanks, I would love to send the pictures

The tops of hosta plants die down in the cold weather and the roots go into dormancy so what you are seeing is perfectly normal for your plant. It will disappear over the winter months and return next spring. After the tops have died down completely, move the pot up close to the wall of your house to help protect it from the worst of the winter weather.
Best wishes with your hosta!
