|I would like to know why some Colorado Blue Spruce are more green than blue? Will a green Blue Spruce ever change to the blue color as they mature? Thank you for your service!!

|The blue coloring on a blue spruce is due to a waxy coating on the needles. It is similar to the bloom you might see on a plum. Sometimes the coating weathers away and other times it is dissolved by applications of an oil based pesticide. Once the waxy coating is gone, the needles look more green than blue. Hope this clarifies things for you.
