A thick, lush lawn will crowd out most weeds so you'll have the upper hand against weeds if you water, mow and feed your lawn on a regular basis. Lawns need about an inch of water per week, applied deeply once or twice a week during the growing season. Feed your lawn in spring and summer with a 3-1-2 ratio of NPK and feed again in the late fall with a winterizer formula fertilizer. And, mow weekly (or more often) to keep the lawn at about a 1 1/2 inch height. A healthy lawn will crowd out weeds. Good luck with your lawn!
