have them sitting onto of a chamgagne flute and roots are growing downward...would like to give them as gifts(pink hyacynths) for xmas...any suggestions to expeditie this...dont want them blooming at xmas..just a couple of inches of growth!! thanks |
I think your hyacinths are well on their way to showing top growth. They are going through their normal growth phase of developing roots. Once they have sufficient roots they will sprout some green. There's not much you can do to hurry the process. When forced commercially, the bulbs are treated with growth hormone sprays at regular intervals and kept at perfect temperatures and humidity. It is hard to duplicate those conditions in the home. So, just provide bright light and warm temperatures and your hyacinths will continue to grow. Enjoy. |
