Brown tips can indicate over fertilizing, dry air, chemicals in the water or even overwatering. Yellowing leaves can indicate over watering, as well, so I know it can be confusing. If you need help diagnosing a plant problem, you can submit a question with the name of the plant, the care it has received, where it's planted, etc. The more clues you provide, the more accurate our diagnosis.
