frozen plants - Knowledgebase Question

I live in Texas where it normally dosent freeze well one day it did and i awoke the next morning to black plants. I checked them out and some are completely black and some have green leaves still tucked under the black ones. does this mean they are dead and should i cut off the black parts to prvent spreading? i dont have a clue what to do can you help?

Sorry frost nipped your plants. The blackened leaves and stems are dead and can be pruned off your plants. It won't spread so you don't have to worry about cutting everything off right away. Next time frost is predicted, cover your plants with old sheets or blankets or even some of the frost blankets available at your local garden center.
