I covered my orange trees during an early freeze do I keep them covered all through the winter or only when there is extreme cold

You should remove the covering each morning after the temperatures rise above freezing and replace the covering each evening when frost is predicted. The plants still need fresh air and sunshine to maintain health so covering each evening and removing the covering is very important. Good luck with your citrus trees.
