This is my first year, my corn looks great but how do I know the right time to pick it ?

Corn should be ready for harvest about three weeks after the silks appear. To check for ripeness, pull back part of the husk and pierce a kernel with your thumbnail. If milky juice spurts out, it's ready. If not, replace the husk and allow to mature for a few more days, then check again.
