I just bought a home and my back yard is a mess. I really want to plant 2 trees, and I want a small garden so I can plant cilantro, tomatoes, and jalapenos. My question is when can I start? I live in Mckinney Tx. I never lived here before so I dont know the weather very well. Wwhat kind of plants can I plant? Thank you

Horsechestnut, Katsura, Laburnum, Linden, Locust, Magnolia, Maple, Oak, Osage orange, Pawpaw, Pear, flowering (Pyrus sp.), Pecan, Pistachio, Pistache, Poplar, Possumhaw (Ilex decidua), Redbud, Redwood, Sassafras, Snowbell, Sourwood, Stewartia, Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua), Tupelo, Walnut, Willow,Winterberry (Ilex verticillata), Witchhazel, Yellowwood, and Zelkova.
