Dry indoor air is a common cause of leaf browning, but some plants are really sensitive to the chemicals in tap water so that might be a cause, as well. Overwatering can also turn the leaf tips brown. I'd try using bottled water rather than tap water, or at least allow your tap water to sit overnight so the chemicals can dissapate before using it on your houseplants. To help increase humidity around your lily, set the container in a gravel filled tray to which you keep about a half inch of water. As the water evaporates it will increase the humdity around your plant. Good luck with your lily.
