We are Northerns moved South. Our new home had been vacant for 6+ months. Little live oaks are all over the grounds, how do get rid of the shoots.

I wish there were an easy solution but hand digging, pulling or rotilling and raking are probably your best approaches to controlling these seedlings. Or, you can paint each and every one with a vegetation killer such as Brush B Gon or Round Up. Don't spray the entire area unless you want to kill all vegetation in the area, just cut each one and direct the spray on the stub. The chemical will be translocated down into the roots and kill the sapling. Wish there were another way to regain control of your landscape!
