The leaves are turning blackish/brown. Please advise.I had it out side in a covered area, but brought it in when it started getting too cold.

It may be that the weather got too cold before you brought your dumb cane in. Blackish/brown foliage usually indicates the temperatures got too cold (below about 50F). There's not much you can do once the cells in the leaves have been damaged, other than to prune them off the plant. Wish I had better news for you!
