|How much water do roses require in various kinds of weather?
|Roses will get by with about one inch of water per week during the growing season. It's best to create a basin around each shrub and apply water by flooding the basin. You might want to dig down into the soil the day after watering to make sure that you've applied enough water to thoroughly wet the entire root mass. If not, plan on flooding the basin 2 or 3 times instead of just once every time you water. The amount of water you need to apply will depend upon soil type and air temperature, but a good rule of thumb is one-inch of water per week.
