I have St Augustine (maybe Floratam)in my yard. Would insectisides harm the grass? Which ones can I use?

Floratam is a hybrid St. Augustine and is more disease resistant than standard St. Augustine. The appearance is similar but the roots and stems of Floratam are sturdier and more able to take stresses from drought and attacks from cinch bugs and grubs. You can use the same products on Floratam as you do on St. Augustine. Some products safe for St. Augustine include Scott's Turf Builder with SummerGuard, and Bayer Advanced PowerForce Multi-Insect Killer. Formulations change, however, so be sure to read the fine print on the label to make sure it is safe to use on St. Augustine. And, be sure to apply according to label directions. Good luck with your turf.
