The two above plants were hit hard by the cold winter. The leaves on both are very burned or dying. Should I cut the vines off, or will the new flowers and leaves be on the old vines. Thank you for your help. Betty Grayson

Wait until the weather warms up before pruning anything back. Your Carolina Jasmine has already set flower buds and if you prune now, you'll remove the remaining flowers. Your clematis will develop flowers on new growth so you should have ample blooms later in the year. But with both, I'd recommend waiting until there's no further threat of frost before pruning them back to remove the winter damage. Best wishes with your vines!
