|I want to start cutting back on plants and shrubs that have freeze damage.
When can I start doing this. We are in Zone 8
|Pruning encourages new growth so if you cut into live material, you may prompt new growth which will be quite susceptible to future freezes. It's best to wait until all danger of frost has passed before pruning away winter damage. I tend to pull off dead leaves when I encounter them in the garden, but leave the pruning until late February. Hope you can wait that long, too!|
