I have a house in palm springs (zip 92234) and I recently planted a haas avacado. I also have mature orange trees on the property. When should I feed the trees?

Plant food designed specifically for citrus trees works well, or choose any that has a 16-20-0 ratio of nitrous, phosphorus and potassium. Use in amounts as recommended on the fertilizer package (which varies according to the size of your citrus tree) and repeat the feeding every February, May and August.

Avocado trees can be fed on the same schedule and with the same fertilizer as you use for your citrus. Sometimes the fertilizer package will say "Citrus and Avocado" on the front.

Best wishes with your fruit trees.
