Should I prune my crape myrtle now and, if so, how much?

Crape myrtles develop flowers on the new growth of the season. It's too early (or too late, depending upon your philosophy) to prune your crape myrtle now. Wait until you see new growth developing and prune it back then. You can generally prune it back by one third without stressing it out too much. Best wishes with your landscape!
