I planted 8 coleonema pulchrum 8 years ago in a rocky area with eastern exposure. They are starting to die, one by one. Can you give me an idea why? The water, light and soil conditions have not changed.
Perhaps their life cycle is about 8 to 10 years. What else could this be?

The average life span for your Breath of Heaven is about 10 years so I think you've gotten the max from your shrubs. It's sad, but true. Some shrubs live for decades but no so for Coleonema pulchrum. If you like the plants, I'd suggest replanting this spring. Enjoy your garden!
