Crabgrass needs a specific number of days above 50F to sprout so I usually apply a corn gluten meal based pre-emergent product in March or April. It will keep seeds from germinating, including grass seeds, so you can't overseed your lawn for at least 8 weeks. I generally overseed in early fall and use the pre emergent in early spring. That way they won't fight each other. You may have to wait and over seed your lawn in the coming fall if the weather in June is too hot.
