I live in Austin, TX and have two beds that border my sloping driveway. I have irrigation in them and would like to plant some color in there with some plants. Any ideas? Thanks

Some really colorful perennials to consider planting in a sunny spot include Autumn sage (Salvia greggii), Sunray Coreopsis (Coreopsis grandiflora), Bearded iris, Blue plumbago (Plumbago auriculata), Bouncing bet (Sapinaria officinalis), Cigar plant (Cuphea micropetala), Daylily (Hemerocalli), Firebush (Hamelia patens), canna (Canna x generalis) and Goldsturm rudbeckia (Rudbeckia x goldsturm). All take your summer heat and sunshine and should thrive in a well draining bed. Enjoy!
