Royal poinciana is a tree, not to be confused with poinsettia, the familiar Yuletide shrub. Usually poinsettia is simply referred to as poinsettia, not royal poinsettia so I'm a bit confused. If you're referring to the royal poinciana tree, feed it in the spring with a 10-10-10 slow release fertilizer in amounts as recommended on the fertilizer package which varies according to the size of the tree. If you're referring to the the plant that most of us associate with the holidays, you can feed yours every 4-5 weeks during the growing season with a liquid fertilizer or feed it once a year with a slow release fertilizer such as Osmocote. Best wishes with your plants!
