|I will be gone 2 1/2 wks; the temperature will be 60 deg. My schefflera is in a pot w/ a drainage hole. should I sit it in water; let it just sit; or take it to a friend? Thanks

|I think your plant will be happy if you water it thoroughly before you leave and then up-end a 16oz. water bottle and stick the neck a couple of inches into the soil. As the potting soil begins to dry out, water will be wicked from the bottle. I use this method to water my plants when I go on vacation and it works like a charm. If you have time, give it a try before you actually leave on your trip. This way you can watch the water level and see how long the water in the bottle lasts. Have a nice trip!
