|At what temperatures is it ideal to fertilize.

|Late February or early March is when you should apply fertilizer to your St. Augustine. It's not so much the ideal temperature as the ideal growth rate. In early spring there is usually enough residual nitrogen to maintain the grass through several mowings. The first application of fertilizer should be made after the second or third mowing of the season. When your turf is actively growing it will make better use of the fertilizer you apply. Hope this clarifies things for you.
