This is my first year growing lavender. Should I cut it back in the fall, or will it be fine if I leave it alone?

It's usually a good idea to remove debris from the garden at the end of the season, after the first frost kills the tops of your plants. This will eliminate hiding places for insects and disease pathogens. Once the tops of your lavender wilt, cut everything back to soil level and place mulch over the tops of the roots to help protect them. In the spring your lavender will resprout.
