When is the best time to plant blueberries, strawberries in SC

They are sometimes available bareroot for planting in late winter and you'll find them growing in containers in the early spring. So as soon as they are available in the garden centers you can plant them. Until then, why not prepare the planting beds by amending with compost or other organic matter so the bed is ready to grow when the plants are available?
