When is the best time of year to transplant and divide them if necessary

You can dig and transplant your rhodies and azaleas in the fall or in the spring. If you move them in the late spring, they may not flower for you this year. I'd move them as soon as the ground is no longer frozen but before your shrubs begin to show new growth. Good luck with the move!
