|Seeds are usually started in a greenhouse about 6 weeks before you set them out in the garden. Greenhouses are typically used from fall through spring for protecting tender plants and seed starting. The summer months are generally too hot to keep plants in a greenhouse - unless you have air conditioning! If you're going to use it during the fall through spring months, set it under or near deciduous trees. The tree leaves will shade the greenhouse until late fall or early winter. The winter sun will be able to shine in and warm the greenhouse, and in the spring when the trees leaf out, the shade will moderate temperatures in the greenhouse. Enjoy your new hobby!
