|I want to put in a privacy barrier. I grew up with Oleanders, but that was in a warmer area. It gets below zero F. at night in the winter here. Would oleander be okay or something else be better.

|Oleanders can take the summer heat and will tolerate temperatures down to about 5F. They may die back if your winter weather is often below zero or if those temperatures persist for days at a time. In your zone 5B garden you might consider planting Knock Out roses for a screening shrub, Otto Luyken Laurel, or American Beautyberry. Best wishes with your landscape.
