The American Orchid Society recommends Orchids feeding weekly, weakly. Orchids need to be fed regularly and any specially formulated Orchid Food or a balanced fertilizer such as 20-20-20 that includes trace elements will be just fine. Apply a quarter-strength dilution each time you water to provide a constant source of the nutrition to your orchid. Applying a full dose once a month can burn the roots. That's why I always dilute the fertilizer and feed more frequently. It's better to water first then follow with a fertilizer solution. Enjoy your new orchid!
