|I am considering purchasing a potted blueberry bush. I'm wondering if I should plant it in the fall or leave it in the container for the winter. Won't it freeze and die? Thank you

|Good question! Plants in containers can suffer from cold damage where the same plants in the ground will go through the winter without problem. If you choose to purchase a blueberry in a container now, I'd suggest digging a hole and burying the pot in the ground to help insulate the roots. You can plant it in the ground in the spring or in the fall and it should be just fine by the time next winter rolls around.
