I live in New Hampshire and I would like to know what plants (flowers) would attract birds, and hopefully plants that comeback each year. Thank you for any help you can give me. J. Harris Somersworth NH

Shrubs are most attractive to birds. They provide shelter and food. The most popular shrubs include Elderberry, Bunchberry, Redosier dogwood, Black chokeberry, Viburnum (Mapleleaf, Witherod), Arrowwood, Mountain cranberry, Sumac, Blackberry, Blueberry (Lowbush and Highbush), Raspberry and Juniper. They all flower and all make attractive presence in the garden.
