is seaweed good in my compost pile what do i have to do with the seaweed before i put it the pile

You can put seaweed in your compost pile. Just consider it a source of nitrogen and rinse it off with plain water to remove excess salts prior to putting it into the pile. If you lay it out and allow it to dry before putting it into the compost pile, consider it a carbon rather than a nitrogen material.
