are there veggies that can not be grown near each other. i have never planted veggie garden before.

The general rule of thumb is to plant your garden so each of the veggies has adequate sunshine and air circulation, and to plant the tallest plants on the east side of the bed, the shortest on the west side so the taller plants do not shade the smaller ones. Aside from the above, all veggies make good companions to all other veggies. Enjoy your new garden!
