I have a very invasive form of mamosa trees on my property. How do I get them to stay out of my forsinthia bushes and gardens?

Mimosa trees tend to send out suckers from the roots. There's a product called Sucker Stopper that is supposed to help but I've found the only real way to keep the suckers out of the garden is to cut them off as soon as they appear. Wish I had a better solution to share!
