I want to plant some birdhouse and apple gourds in my garden. I am making a raised bed on the side of the house and am wondering if I can build supports for them like you would for pole beans to conserve space... definitely have limited space... if so what would you suggest?

You absolutely can grow your gourds on a trellis or even a teepee. You'll need to support the fruits as they grow and enlarge. Use nylon netting or even old pantyhose and attach it to the trellis or teepee to hold the fruit up. Enjoy!
