Too much water can cause plants to wilt, and too little water can do the same. Peat pots do dry out quickly because the water evaporates through the sides of the pots. A paper plate won't hold water but a plastic tray will. Or, you can water thoroughly and then set each peat pot in a plastic baggie with the top left open. The plastic baggie will keep water from evaporating. Don't let the pots sit in water, though, or the roots can rot. Just keep the soil and pots barely moist and don't allow water to collect in the bottoms of the trays or baggies. Hope this information helps!
