Vegetables you can grow near walnut trees - Knowledgebase Question

I lost 30 tomato plants last summer do to walnut trees nearby. What vegetables can grow in the area near the walnut trees? You told me what flowers but not t
he kind of vegetables I can grow there.
If possible can I plant cantelope, watermelon or eggplant. What would you plant in that space?

Allium (onions), Beans, Carrots, Corn, Melons, Squash, beets, Lima Beans, and parsnips will grow in the area you describe. Tomatoes and Eggplants are sensitive to juglone so if you want to grow them, plant them in containers in potting soil rather than in the ground. Good luck with your garden!
