New Monarda Not Blooming - Knowledgebase Question

This spring I purchased and planted two monarda scarlet perennials. Both took off well with good leaf production but no flowers yet. What went wrong? Have fed MiracleGro and a 5/10/5 all purpose food. Get good sun light from early morning till around two in the afternoon.

Monarda (bee balm) seem to do best in a rich moist soil, even a nearly damp soil. In my experience, they will establish very slowly as new plants if the first growing season is a hot and dry one. The second season however, assuming moisture levels are ample, they should spread somewhat aggressively and bloom like mad for you! Good luck with your monarda!
