| Flowering cherry trees can be fed each spring with a general purpose garden fertilizer such as a 10-10-10. Apply in amounts as directed on the label which will differ depending upon the size of your tree. You can use compost, shredded bark or even bark nuggets as mulch around your tree. Be sure to keep the mulch a few inches away from the trunk of your tree. If it is too close it can hold too much moisture against the bark and cause problems. |
