I'd like to plant 5-6 fruit trees in denver this year (from home depot). The area is a strip 9 feet by 45 feet. What and when could I plant.

since your planting area is narrow, you'll want to plant dwarf or semi-dwarf fruit trees. North Star Cherry, Bing Cherry and Montmorency Cherry are good cultivars for your region; Bartlett Pear, Elberta and Red Haven Peaches, Superior Plum and Delicious, Honey Crisp and Sweet 16 Apples will also provide fruit in your garden. You can plant bareroot trees when the ground can be dug in the late winter or early spring and containerized plants in the spring or the fall months. enjoy!
