I recently had a large rock planter built in the front yard. I want to plant colorful flowers or bushes that grow up to 6 feet. I tried to attach a photo but could not. Any suggestions? Thanks, Viola

The University of Hawaii lists the following shrubs as suitable for growing in your region: Bougainvillea (Puka na wila), Calliandra (Powder-puff; Lehua-haole), Kauai White Hibiscus (Koki`o ke`oke`o), Native White, Red or Yellow Hibiscus (Koki`o kea),
Snow Bush (Lau-kalakoa), Vireya; Tropical Rhododendron, Wild Poinsettia (Chaconia; Pride of Trinidad). If you have room, plant them all!!
